Ok, so we're hoping you won't and no, this was not a trick. It was actually a test; a test to see how well call-to-actions can actually work. So what is a call to action anyway? And how do you compel your followers or customers to perform a specific task or buy a certain product?

Creating a call to action can seem like a difficult task, but it’s not as difficult as one might think. You know what you want and you know what you would like for your followers to do, it’s just the act of how to get them there. Effective CTA’s encourage your readers to engage and become customers. They drive leads for your business. It is called a “call” to “action” for a reason - you call, they act. It’s simple really. So quit trying to make it so complicated and follow the steps below. In no time, you’ll be getting your followers to click those links left and right.

  1. Be short, be clear, give details - This is a no vague zone. People should know exactly what will happen when they click on a CTA. Will they learn how to grow their email list? Increase the traffic to their website? Don’t skimp the details.

  2. Keep it Natural - No one likes a forced relationship. Make your CTA work with the overall feel of your copy.

  3. Grab Attention - You want to be remembered, so give your audience something they can’t forget. Whether it’s a creative design or witty copy, give them something they can’t not click.

Creating effective CTAs take a few tries. Depending on your audience, you may have to test a few different approaches before finding what works. Remember, practice makes perfect, so try something new and find what works for you.
