Make America Preppy Again

That’s the mission of ‘all things preppy’ client, Country Club Prep. There’s a lot of Patriotism to go around thanks to the start of the Rio Olympics and the upcoming election. The latter was the inspiration behind the new campaign for our madras and seersucker loving clients and we can already tell you, their popularity has them rising quickly in the (hypothetical) polls. In light of all of the controversy surrounding this year’s election, Country Club Prep sought to create a way to keep their audience entertained and in doing so they created their platform, Make America Preppy Again.

The idea behind the idea, is rooted in the founders’ passion for all things preppy and their high hopes for ensembles matching those of style icons JFK and Jackie O to once again reign. Those trends, nowadays, are few and far between.

That’s why these men took it upon themselves to start a month-long movement. In order to once again make America preppy, they would need to stress the importance of their followers involvement to the selfie-consumed world of Instagram. With three days of planning time, we were able to help the gentlemen of Country Club Prep put together a video to kick off the beginning of their path on the campaign trail (Side note: To say that filming was entertaining would be a slight understatement. It’s hard not to enjoy yourself when you spend a few hours at the CCP headquarters - not to mention they may or may not provide a little glass of wine to their guests. We weren’t lying when we called them gentlemen).

We won’t say it’s been easy, but it’s been fun and quite successful at that. Check out a few of the participating posts below from their followers.

So how have they been so successful with their campaign? We’ll leave you with a few tips in case you ever decide to run one of your own.

  1. Set Goals- Establish what you are trying to accomplish. Do you want to gain more followers? Increase website traffic? Generate a buzzworthy hashtag? Whatever the desired outcome may be, make sure you there’s something you’re focused on.

  2. Decide on your Social Networks- It’s hard to carry one campaign across all forms of social media. Some campaigns are better-suited for specific platforms due to different demographics on each one, so make sure whatever your campaign may be, that it’s tailored.

  3. Engage with the Participants- Let your audience know you’re as involved in your campaign as you are wanting them to be. Monitor your social campaign for mentions and tags and respond accordingly. Repost their images and show that you appreciate their involvement. Not only does it make your follower feel important, but it also shows there’s a human behind that little screen liking and responding to posts.

  4. Analyze your campaigns success- Did you reach your goals? If not, what can you do the next time to make sure that goal was met.  Measure both qualitative and quantitative data. You may be surprised at what you will find.
