Whether or not you love Valentine’s Day, you should definitely love the opportunities that it brings for you to spice up your social media content across platforms. Let’s be honest, it can be tough to brainstorm a month’s worth of social media posts that are unique and engaging, so this is the perfect time of year to jump on the V-Day bandwagon to win over the hearts of your followers. However, it is vital that you take the time to get creative so you don’t get swept up with all of the other cupids and candy hearts on newsfeeds. Luckily for you, we are making that process easy by sharing some of our favorite love-filled tactics.
1. Create your own Valentine’s hashtag
#EnoughSaid. It’s important to get creative with this one so you don’t wind up with the same hash-tag as dozens of other companies. Take the time to think this one through, or let it come to you on the car ride home. Either way, you want to avoid misinterpretation or confusion, so make it clear and concise.
2. Valentine’s Photoshoot
For photo shoots, it’s important to incorporate the holiday by using symbols or itmes that are commonly associated with Valentine’s Day without being #basic. For example, instead of roses, incorporate peonies, or another elegant flower. Try making your own chocolates out of paper, they are aesthetically pleasing and it’ll keep you on track with your diet. In addition to using unique props, envision what you want your feed to look like, specifically, you can create a red, white and pink pallet across your Instagram squares. This is the perfect time to think outside of the (chocolate heart) box and show off your product/ brand while appealing to follower’s emotions.
3. Valentine’s Video
This is the perfect way to engage with your followers. Although making a video can be time consuming, this could be a great opportunity to grab people around the office and interview them on their favorite V-Day candy, or their best/worst Valentine’s Day dates. There’s room for so much creativity as well as flexibility to be heartfelt or funny with this one, plus it’s a great way to bond with your co-workers.
4. Snapchat filter
If Snapchat is one of the social media platforms you use, then this one is expected, fairly simple and fun. Creating a V-Day filter is a great way for people to spread the word about you, just make sure your brand/ logo doesn’t get lost in the emoji hearts and chocolates.
5. Social Media Contest
This could easily go along with your hashtag! Whether you want to offer a small or large prize, this is a great way to connect with your followers via social media. It is crucial to have an incentive as well as simple rules/ requirements to enter the contest. Also try to avoid being exclusive in this by making it a “couple’s contest”, instead try to be as inclusive as possible to widen the engagement with your audience.
6. Live Video
If you’ve been keeping up with our blog posts, or social media trends in general, you know that live video is the new thing. Nervous to fire off a live video? Well now you have something to talk about/ show off. You can do a behind the scenes live-feed of your Valentine’s Day photoshoot, or you can demonstrate a great use of your product on Valentine’s Day, the possibilities here are endless and you can do it multiple times leading up to the holiday.
