While most people may think of Pinterest as a place for mindless browsing or ideas for inspiration, when utilized correctly, it can also be a powerful tool to help drive your business and take your social media strategy to the next level.
One Social Media platform that is often overlooked as a key marketing tool is Pinterest. With 100 million active users, 71% of them being women, and the ever-increasing trend to all things visual, Pinterest is becoming one of the most beneficial components in Marketing.
Pinterest may be the one social media platform where the regular folk would rather follow their favorite small businesses and brands than their favorite celebs. And that may be the best statistic I've heard in a long time! With the recent introduction of buyable pins, brands are finding great success on Pinterest.
We've compiled a list of our favorite small businesses and brands to follow on Pinterest below. Enjoy!
- Erika Reade Ltd.
- Lucy's Market
- Country Club Prep
- Imagine Media Consulting (why, of course we included ourselves!)
- Kirk Kara
- The Scout Guide Atlanta
- Nour Jensen
- Now and Again
- Tickled Pink
- J Douglas
And my own personal favorite Pinterest-er, Moorea Seal, who grew such a loyal Pinterest following based on her own personally curated items that she launched an online store under the name of Moorea Seal. Her popular online shop quickly turned into a brick and mortar in her hometown of Seattle, and she recently became a first time author with the publishing of her first book, 52 lists. How's that for a Pinterest success story?

As marketers, there are more eyes on Pinterest now more than ever. Why? 30% of US Social Media users are on the eponymous photo-sharing website. Because of this, as a brand, failing to incorporate Pinterest into your online marketing strategy would be a huge mistake.
The newest site to jump on the ad bandwagon is Pinterest. Although the site has an estimated 47.1 million monthly users, the site decided to adopt “Cinematic Pins.”
