See those little blue and white check marks next to the user handles? Yeah, you recognize that symbol. You see it next to the names of celebrities, well-known athletes, and big-name companies like Apple. You also most likely know that that little check mark means that the account its attached to is “verified.” But what does that really mean?

Today is MLK Day, a day well spent honoring, celebrating, and reflecting on a man whose fight for equality and freedom created a strong legacy and continues to influence our country. Not surprisingly, Twitter is buzzing with MLK-related content, and we’re loving following along.
This past Friday, Twitter reported that for Q2, the platform had 328 million total users. While seemingly a large number, it's also the exact same number reported in Q1. In short, Twitter didn't grow its user base for an entire quarter. So what does this mean for businesses utilizing Twitter? Is there still a point to Tweeting to a seemingly stagnant user base? Perhaps surprisingly, the answer is yes!
