Growing your Instagram may seem like an intimidating task, but with a few tricks and a solid strategy, you’ll see meaningful followers that naturally increase over time. It’s important to have patience while understanding that having fewer, engaged followers is more beneficial than having thousands of followers with little engagement.
A great place to start is by creating a consistent strategy. It’s important to have a clear picture of what you want your feed to look like, and develop a cohesive aesthetic to create visual appeal. Aligning the feel of your page with your brand voice and understanding your target market is the easiest way to captivate an engaged audience. Maintain and continue to develop an engaged audience by posting at least once a day. Make it easy on yourself by planning out an entire week’s content so that you’re not scrambling at the last minute to figure out what your next picture or witty caption should be. Perhaps designate every Sunday morning, for example, to sit down and plan content for the following week.
When creating content, it’s vital to use professional photography and incorporate video whenever possible. The easiest way to do this is by creating Instagram Stories, which live at the top of the page and allow followers to easily watch it and be reminded of your brand at any point throughout the day. Also, not only is it important to join in on hashtag conversations that are relevant to your brand, but also to create your own branded hashtag. This will develop a sense of community and allow users to easily search posts about your brand. It will also allow for you to easily search for user generated content and find other posts about your brand to interact with and begin to build a relationship. Engaging with people who like or comment on your posts, or engaging with other like-minded brands, is a great way to increase your reach. Furthermore, collaborating with influencers or partnering up with other businesses for a co-branded giveaway will also help increase your reach, ultimately leading to new followers.
Last but not least, measure your success to learn what’s working best. Find a commonality among your top performing posts and continue to do more of that. If you’re patient with yourself and carry out a consistent strategy with compelling content, your Instagram growth will continually increase!
