Somewhat surprisingly, the holidays are a great time to offer a giveaway to your audience! In a season where most brands and business are trying to increase sales by getting people to make purchases, giving away an item helps your brand to stand out amongst all of the promotional noise. Here are a few tips on how to host a great holiday giveaway:
1. Relate it to the Season
How many of you have heard of and/or participated in a “12 Days of Christmas” giveaway? Linking your giveaway back to the holiday is a fun way to keep it seasonal and exciting, and the more that you can offer during the holidays, the better! Giving away items leading up to Christmas/Chanukah/Kwanzaa is also a great way to ensure that your audience stays tuned in and engaged — if they know there’s opportunity to win every single day, they’ll be more likely to come back to your page to check in and (hopefully) shop around while there!
2. Partner with Another Brand
’Tis the season! By asking another brand to partner with you for a giveaway, you’ll not only engage with your own audience, but also reach theirs. The best co-branded giveaways require that you follow all participating brands’ pages, which will help to increase both pages’ following, engagement, and traffic.
3. Make it Interesting!
Most giveaway entry requires the following:
- Like the post
- Follow both pages
- Tag a friend
Why not switch it up? For example, you could make it a giveaway requirement that your audience comments something they want to see your brand do in 2018 — this ensures that you get direct audience feedback in a fun and engaging way! Another great idea would be to have your audience participate in new product design — for example, have them suggest names for a new product (jewelry line, collection, etc.) for the chance to win it!
4. Boost those Posts!
If hosting on Facebook or another platform where posts can be boosted, we highly recommend doing so! In this social media crazy era, everyone is posting about the holidays, deals and their products, make sure that your posts are getting noticed by boosting them.
