Your Facebook Business Page Is About to Get a Lot Less Traffic

Before you hit the panic alarm don't fret, we're here to break down the latest Facebook update for you and how we anticipate things changing: 

"In a post to Facebook, Founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg has revealed plans to change up your news feed once again. In a renewed effort to help people stay connected, Facebook will be further limiting the number of posts people will see from brands, businesses, and media on their feed, opting to increase the number of posts from friends and family." - Fstoppers

What does that mean for your brand? Truthfully, only time will tell and in the meantime, we're researching best practices and brainstorming innovative ways to break the mold and manage this algorithm update. In the meantime, here are a few of our hunches on how we anticipate things shifting:

  1. Higher Ad Spends will be needed to reach your target audience
  2. Influencer marketing will become increasingly more important
  3. Businesses will begin to encourage their team to share Facebook posts directly from the business page
  4. Businesses may begin to make a bigger shift to Instagram, Pinterest & Twitter to engage with their audience
