Get creative and learn how to make your own cinemagraphs by following these simple steps below.
Step 1: Import the video you want to use into Photoshop. Trim the clip until it is exactly what you want to work with.
Step 2: Create a new layer [Shift + Option + Command + N) and drag Layer 2 above Layer 1.
Step 3: Make sure you are on Layer 2 and then click on the brush tool. Select a color and go through the entire clip frame by frame coloring what part you want to move in the cinemagraph.
Step 4: Hide Layer 2 and then add a third layer. Once you have Layer 3, go to the end of the video clip and add a freeze frame [Shift + Option + Command + E]. Place Layer 3 in between Layer 1 and 2. Unhide Layer 2.
Step 5: Click on Layer 2 and press the Command button then go to Layer 3 and add a mask. You may need to invert the mask by pressing [Command + I]. You can then drag Layer 2 over to the trash can.
Step 6: Click on the mask and the brush tool and go through and clean up each frame with the brush.
Step 7: Go to File -> Export -> Save to Web and adjust your settings as needed. Make sure the file is a GIF and that it will loop Forever.
